Academic Calendar 2011/12

School re-opens for all staff and First Years on Monday, 29^th August 2011.

School opens for First Years, Fifth Years and Transition Year on Tuesday, 30^th August 2011.

School opens for all Year Groups on Wednesday, 31^st August 2011.

October 2011 - Mid-Term break - All schools will close from Monday, 31^st October 2011 to Friday, 4^th November 2011 inclusive.

Christmas 2011 - All schools will close on Thursday, 22^nd December 2011 which will be the final day of the school term. All schools will re-open on Monday, 9^th January 2012.

February 2012 - Mid-Term break - Post-primary schools will close from Monday 13^th February 2012 to Friday 17^th February 2012 inclusive, unless changes are required as part of contingency arrangements to make up for time lost due to unforeseen school closures. Where contingency arrangements are required a school authority may reduce the length of the February mid-term break by remaining open up to and including Wednesday, 15^th February 2012.

Easter 2012 - All schools will close on Friday, 30^th March 2012, which will be the final day of the school term, unless changes are required as part of contingency arrangements to make up for time lost due to unforeseen school closures. Where contingency arrangements are required a school authority may reduce the length of the Easter break by remaining open up to and including Wednesday, 4^th April 2012. All schools will re-open on Monday, 16^th April 2012.

Halloween Mid-Term: Monday 31^st October – Friday 4^th November 2011 (inclusive)
Christmas Holidays: Friday 23^rd December – Friday 6^th January 2012 (inclusive)
Spring Mid-Term: Monday 13^th February – Friday 17^th February 2012 (inclusive)
Easter Holidays: Monday 2^nd April –  Friday 13^th April  2012 (inclusive)

St. Patrick’s Day: Monday 19^th March 2012
May Day: Monday 7^th May 2012
State Examinations: Wednesday 6^th June 2012
