Christmas Celebration
We have run this for the past five years because of its success. The Third Years organise it as part of Cross Curricular studies. They send out invites to Parents, Staff and Special Guests. They decorate the Coffee Dock area of the school, assemble a stage and back drops and set up the sound system. On the morning of the Celebration they prepare some of the foods, look after back stage and will introduce all the events taking place. The Second and First Years must perform a song or a play. Students work from term 1 is displayed in the classrooms for all to see.
Céilí
We hold this to coincide with Seachtain na Gaeilge. The second years help organise it. The First year Irish classes print out keywords associated with a ceili and post them around the room in preparation for the event. We use a local chef to come in on the morning of the ceili and help the Home Economic students to bake scones and make sandwiches. Last year out Transition Year students joined in on the day.
Summer Celebration
This is always held in our library as our students would have spent a lot of the three years reading and researching there. Some of the initiatives are also centred here. Students Art, Wood, Metal and Home Economics project work is put on display so that the Parents can see that their children have reached the required standard of the Junior Cert and are ready for the up coming exams.
