All Ireland ChessZ Final, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary On Tuesday 12th May, 9 students from Carndonagh Community School made the long trip to Nenagh, Co. Tipperary for the All Ireland ChessZ Final. They had qualified to represent Donegal in a provincial competition which was held in CCS in January. State Exams Commission - Exam Fees for LC and JC
The State Exams Commission (SEC) have issued notice of Exam Fees for LC and JC. Letters have been given to pupils with login details included. Gardaí Letter to Parents/Guardians - Use of Electric Scooters by Children/Young People
An Garda Síochána have asked schools to help inform parents/guardians regarding the use of electric scooters by children and young people. "Under the Roaad Traffic (Electric Scooters) Regulations 2024, it is illegal for any person under 16 years of age to ride an e-scooter in a public place, including footpaths, cycle lanes, parks, and any other public space frequented by members of the public. Pope John Paul II Awards
Four of our students received John Paul II awards on Wednesday last for voluntary work in their parishes and communities. Eoghan Doherty received the Papal Cross, while Fergal Diver Hall, Eanna McElwaine, and Kilian Callaghan all received the Gold Award.

Carndonagh Community School was delighted to host the Donegal ChessZ Tournament on Tuesday, 20th January. The event brought together over 96 talented students from schools across Donegal, making it a fantastic day of competition. We congratulate all students who took part. Open Night 2026
There wasn't a seat free on Tuesday evening as CCS welcomed First Year pupils and parents/guardians to the Áras for CCS Open Night 2026. HSCL Co-ordinator, Yvonne Doherty hosted the event, and there were performances from the Drama Group and the Senior Choir, before those assembled headed to the Concourse for a walkabout. Open Night 2026 - Tuesday, 20th January
CCS will host its annual Open Night on Tuesday, 20th January, 7pm-9pm. Aimed at incoming/prospective pupils and their parents, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the school, meet staff and current students, explore subject options (a lot more fun than you think!), ask questions, and generally get a feel for the place. 5th Year Visit to Dáil Éireann – Annual Oireachtas Quiz
Yesterday, three 5th Year Politics and Society students travelled to Dáil Éireann to take part in the first annual Oireachtas Schools Quiz, an event to mark Oireachtas na nÓg and deepen student engagement with national politics. 2025 DAY OF ACTION FOR CHARITABLE CAUSES
Today, Friday 14th November, is the school's Annual Day of Action. Pupils are tasked with making positive contributions and carrying out positive actions. Concern Debate Competition Opener
The all-new CCS debating team met Magh Ene of Bundoran on Friday to oppose the motion that: 'Disinformation is the biggest threat to peace in 2025' . The team, made up of all girls this year, gave a wonderful first performance. Their speeches were well-researched and they each spoke confidently about their topics opposing the motion.
