Girls GAA - Senior
The senior girls have had an excellent start to the season. Three matches won, top of the league and qualification to the Ulster quarter-finals. Well done to this bunch of girls who have given 100% at training and matches. Watch this space!

The U-16 boys turned on the style against a Columba's side that arrived in Carn knowing that they had to win the match to have any chance of qualifying for the semi-final.
There was style running through the panel, from David McLaughlin's hairstyle (!!), through Gary Doherty's cool goal finishing (he scored 3-0) and Ryan 'Jecky' Doherty's attacking wing play and point taking (scored 0-3), to Adam Byrne's single hand juggling catch !! Some days things just fall into place - on other days things just fall ( right Edward H. ?)
GAA - The Transition Year versus Staff Gaelic football match is not long over, but the battlefield still bears the scars, as do some of the brave staff members who took on a crack team of TY pupils. When asked to recount the scoreline after the game, one member of staff said that it was unfair to talk about scorelines and that sport had won! Whatever the score, the event itself was a successful fundraiser for the school. Well done to all involved, and in particular to the TY pupils responsible for organising the event.

GAA - The Seniors suffered defeat in their first game of the season against Carrick VS on Thursday, 22nd September. The lads gave a decent account of themselves but were up against it, facing opponents with possibly the best footballing reputation at this level in Donegal. It's no surprise that rising County star, Patrick McBrearty was pivotal to the visitors' victory. While there are no doubt things to work on, there's plenty to take home from Thursday's game. CCS Seniors will be no pushovers in 2011/12. (Full match report and teamsheet to follow.)
