Brendan McLaughlin (3C) Looking to the Future with Finn Harps

Brendan McLaughlin's football career has been kicking on nicely recently. We caught up with the Third Year to find out the latest... "The LOI U15 Cup was a knockout competition. We faced many teams from across the country, meeting Cork City in the final which was held in Athlone Football Stadium on 13th November 2021. It was a great game from start to finish as it was neck and neck throughout. We reached half-time 1-0 up. Cork came out fighting during the second half, but Finn Harps stayed on top. I scored the second goal to wrap up the game with a few minutes to spare. The win, and scoring in an All-Ireland Final topped off a fantastic season and really made all the hard work and effort worth it.

I am currently playing with Harps U17 team, stuck into preseason training with the motivation and desire to have a year as good as last season. I am also playing with the U19 and U21 Harps teams. I find that training sessions and games with the older players are good experience for me, seeing what is expected at that level whilst also helping me further develop both physically and mentally. I don’t support any one team in particular as I enjoy watching all football...but Ronaldo is a player I would follow."
