CCS will host its annual Open Night on Tuesday, 20th January, 7pm-9pm. Aimed at incoming/prospective pupils and their parents, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the school, meet staff and current students, explore subject options (a lot more fun than you think!), ask questions, and generally get a feel for the place. Our Transition Year students travelled to Dublin on Wednesday for a fun-filled Politics trip. Fifth & sixth year Chemistry students recently attended the Chemistry at Work Exhibition in Queen's University Belfast. They had talks on how Chemistry is integrated into the processes carried out at Agri foods & Biosciences Institute, CAFRE, NI Water, Almac and Spirit Aerospace. The all-new CCS debating team met Magh Ene of Bundoran on Friday to oppose the motion that: 'Disinformation is the biggest threat to peace in 2025' . Round 2 of this year's Bake Off was a spectacular exhibition of treat creation. Nine talented students baked a batch of cupcakes with a Seasonal/Autumnal theme. The Carn boys knew they were facing a challenge today against a serious Moville outfit. Having said that, suggestions of a heavy defeat were quickly hushed as CCS looked to have their lines well prepared. Despite going behind from a corner, the boys didn't flinch and equallised soon after thanks to a lovely finish from Jonah McNally (goalkeeper Ronnie Bonner with the assist!).
