Creative Schools Week - An Artistic Review

In recognition of Creative Schools Week, the following is a brief but beautiful recap of the artistic activities involving CCS pupils this year. To get things started, a group of pupils were treated to origami classes taught by Junko Okura during lockdown.

Next up were Fifth Years pupils who learned about historical costume design, and TYA who got local history/history of illustration lessons, all courtesy @JohnDRuddy.

@benholmesart was next to impart his artist talent, co-creating a stunning painting with our 3rd year Art students. It started online during lockdown, and was finished off in the classroom.

Well done to the winners of our Community Mural Competition - Ailish Doherty 3rd Yr; Debbie Doherty 3rd Yr; Ciara Gilmore TY; Lauren McLaughlin 5th Yr; Lucia Doherty 5th Yr; Shannon Canny 5th Yr & Nuria Oslé Maguire 5th Yr.

Finally, finishing touches are still being made to our school mural, representing the local area. Well done to our TY & 5th year art students who worked with @benholmesart to create a truly impressive piece of artwork.
