On Thursday 12th October, Ms Coll & Ms. Doherty had the pleasure of welcoming spinning wheel-maker Johnny Shiels to their 2nd Year Visual Art classes to demonstrate the traditional methods of yarn making. Students got a great insight into the importance of these wheels in the early 19th century in Ireland. They got first hand demonstrations from Johnny Sheils, and the teachers and students even got to give it a go! We look forward to welcoming Johnny back throughout the year for more demonstrations in the craft.
