There was shock and sadness among staff at CCS following the untimely passing of past-staff member, Pat O’Connor. Pat was school caretaker for almost two decades, retiring in 2012. He was the quintessential handyman and carried out his daily duties with an obliging nature. He had an engaging personality and there was always a bit of chat and cráic while the work was being done.
It’s no secret that Pat’s passion were the sports grounds, which he kept in immaculate condition. In fact, his tending to the grounds didn’t stop at retirement. Pat’s family were quick to mention that he loved his work and was in no rush to retire. His big win in the Staff Draw on his last day at work is fondly recalled.
Pat will always be remembered and sadly missed by CCS staff members, past and present. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
