CCS Students Finn Duffy, Cian Lafferty, Nathan McGuinness, Aoife McDermott and Jessica McLaughlin enjoyed an amazing few days at the Stripe Young Scientist competition held in the RDS Jan 7th- 10th 2026.
Aoife and Jessica displayed their project “From Grave to Stream” - Is embalming fluid having an environmental impact on the ecosystems of our waterways? They had the privilege of being judged by the Pat Guiry of, Chair of the Board, YS & Technology Exhibition, among other academics.
Finn, Cian and Nathan had an exciting week with their project - "Dominant is Prominent" A statistical analysis how ocular dominant vision can improve putting in golf. They had the privilege of a visit from the Taoiseach, the American Ambassador and the President of the ASTI at their stand and test the theory by trying out the putting experiment.
Padraig McLaughlin also stopped at both projects and had a good chat with all the students.
