U19 Girls Soccer - Ulster Final Awaits After Deele's Defeat

Carndonagh Community School 4-1 Deele College Raphoe

The game started off pretty evenly for the first 10 mins, until a cross into the box was finished off by Alannah Brennan, making it 1-0 to Carn. There was loads of great play from both sides, with some great shots on goal. Cache Crumlish was then fouled in the box leading to a Carn penalty. Emma Devlin stepped up to take it and placed it nicely into the bottom left corner; 2-0 to Carn. Lorinne Greene followed that up with a great strike that deflected nicely, making it 3-0 to Carn at half time.

CCS started the 2nd half strongly with a lot of play in Deele's half. A great delivery to Cache Crumlish was tapped nicely into the net for 4-0. Deele was awarded a free at the edge of the box; the shot flew into the top corner, although it was nearly saved by Carn's keeper, Ciara McDaid. Things got feisty in the last few minutes and a couple of yellow cards were given to both sides. The game ended 4-1 to Carn. CCS will play Scoil Mhuire Buncrana in the Final on Friday 25th January.

Many thanks to Rachel Crossan for the excellent photo album.
