On March, 14th...Pi Day...(3.14, get it??)...CCS hosted the North Donegal Regional Finals of the IMTA Junior Cycle Maths Quiz. They were joined on the day by teams from both Crana College and Scoil Mhuire. CCS entered three teams, with seven teams from Inishowen competing overall.
The CCS team of Alex Butler, Eoghan Doherty, Mark McDaid and Gavin O'Connor were eventual winners with a very impressive performance. They seemed surprised to have run away with the competition, but it's clear that their maths game is very strong! They will now go forward to represent the region in the National Finals in Portlaoise on Saturday, April 22nd.
Well done to all students who took part, and to the teachers involved who helped out along the way - Mrs Hannah Hunter, Ms Joanne Doherty, Ms Laura Egan and Ms Shannon Doherty. A very big thank also must go to the TY volunteers on the day and to our referee Mr Mickey O Kane.
