TY Students Bring the Wellread Spirit to Work Experience

TYB have been spreading the love of reading far beyond the classroom as part of our participation in the Oide Wellread Award. Students were given a challenge to complete as part of our school’s aim to achieve The Wellread Award.

During their recent work experience TYB students invited their colleagues or employers to take part in a special Wellread initiative. Students in TYB asked people in their workplace to share their favourite book and to talk briefly about why they love it.

This creative idea not only encouraged conversations about books in workplaces across Inishowen but also strengthened the connection between our school and the local community.

Well done to the TYB students for their enthusiasm, creativity, and leadership in promoting the joy of reading. Pictured below are the winners of this challenge, Sophie McPeake and Jamie Doherty. All TY groups will be asked to complete this task during their next week of work experience so thanks to Sophie and Jamie for leading the way with this literacy initiative.
